As a native New Yorker Danny Messer has come to epitomize the city itself. His initial aspirations lead him into baseball until an unfortunate injury closed those doors. Danny turned to his other talents, following his gifts in science and pride for his city to join the academy and excel. Graduating in the top of his class attracted the attention of job offers, even though his smart mouth and quick temper had already given him a name. Proud to be hand picked by Mac Taylor, Danny eagerly took up a position with NY:CSI and is now Mac's second most senior investigator.
